Hidden Pubs of London

Join us for a 3hr historical stumble down the "street of shame". Starting in the shadow of the iconic St.Paul's cathedral, we explore the tiny backstreets and rambling courtyards the ancient City of London is famous for. We follow in the drunken footsteps of literary greats including Dickens, Shakespeare, Pepys & Johnson whilst pausing for a drink in at least 4 of the most historic pubs dating as far back as the 1500's. From discovering art nouveau gems to glamorous Victorian gin palaces we enjoy a variety of pub styles and breweries along the way. It's not a prescriptive tour, so you choose & pay for your drinks along the way. We're here to offer recommendations, and you can often "sip before you sup" with a few tasters on request from the bars along the way. This allows you to indulge as much or as little as you desire! Non-drinkers can soak up the history, and wine & gin-lovers are also well catered for. We usually finish up on the edge of Covent Garden perfect for theatre-land, restaurants and of course more pubs! Other note: - Guests are recommended to be over 18 years of age to enjoy the walk at its best. Creating Churros & Chocolate on a Boat

I will give you a brief history of the Spanish tradition of Churros con Chocolate and tell you about my favourite places to eat them in Spain. Also, because we will be having the experience in a unique London setting of my houseboat, I will be happy to share what it's like to live as part of the East London boaters community too! I will show you the ingredients we will be using and which ones work better than others. Due to my limited space, I will be showing you how to cook/ prepare the dish for most of the time, but you will have a chance to play around with the dough - the fun bit - and see how it looks sizzling in the oil. The next part is making the delicious thick drinking chocolate which we will make from scratch - nothing comes out of a packet in my little boat kitchen! The ingredients can be made vegan very easily. The perfect experience for couples or adults with kids. Please note due to my space restrictions 3 guests is a comfortable number, however I can allow 4 if requested, please ask. Finally you will be able to eat the churros con chocolate whilst they are still hot, either upstairs in the pretty wheelhouse or the covered deck, a cute little space full of charm with views of the water - you may even see a duck floating past too!

You will also come away with knowledge of the beer styles that you are tasting, their history and evolution. Eat British foods & See Thirty Top sights

We will explore 30+ of London’s major landmarks & the best of British foods. This will give you a good idea of the history & tastes of Europe’s best-loved city. After the walking tour, we will stop for an hour & taste the best British foods in one of London's oldest food markets: Borough market. It's a bustling hub of smells and flavours. Foods you will try include: Fish & Chips (mushy peas/gravy), have a beer & pub snacks and a world-famous dessert... At the start, we will head through Green Park to Buckingham Palace, where we'll watch the world-famous Changing of the Guard ceremony (if it is on). We then head to Westminster. Sights we'll see along the way include Parliament Square, St James Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament. We then go to the London Bridge area, where we'll see Shakespeare’s Globe, the Shard, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge & the Tower of London. Plus many other sights! You'll be hungry and thirsty (hopefully) at this point: we then go for a feast of the best of British foods. Other things to note: The food tasting is at the end of the 5-hour walking tour. Bring a good camera: you'll be seeing 30+ top London sights. Please bring a topped-up Oyster Card/Contactless bank card. Umbrella if it's raining.
